St. Francis Prep Head Football Coach Honored

He's an icon in New York City high school football circles. He's 76-year old Vicent O'Conner, who has been leading the St. Francis Prep squad for 53-years.

Yesterday he was honored off the field when his former player, now-Councilman Eric Gioia (D-Sunnyside), got city council to pass a proclamation that cited all of Coach O'Connor's accomplishments.

O'Connor, who is in the Catholic High School Hall of Fame, has more than 300-win, 20 Coach of the Year awards and has won 17 Catholic League championships.
